Our Board of Trustees
The Te Kura o Maketu Board meets monthly. Preparation for these meetings requires trustees to have read reports and be prepared to engage during the board hui.

I’ve worked at Te Kura o Maketu as a kaiawhina for 4 years now, and really enjoy watching the progress and development of the tamariki. Helping the tamariki in Okurei, our senior class, is my main role. In my role as staff representative on the Board of Trustees it is great to be able to communicate to the other trustees the progress and programmes I observe on a daily basis.

Kia Ora Maketu Kura Whanau
I was born, raised and have lived in Maketu all my life and love every bit of it. I attended Maketu kura back in 1987, a long time ago I know. Five of my seven girls schooled here with the other two to follow. I have been a big part of the kura for some time now with having many different roles starting off as a PTA member and volunteer then moving into part time/fill in office administrator to breakfast club and the canteen/lunch lady to being co-opted onto the board in 2013. From 2016 I did a few years of kaiawhina through all classrooms finishing up that roll in Dec 2020. So currently I am serving another term on the Maketu School board. I have had some awesome experiences within the kura community and will continue to do so for many more years to come.
